Snorkel with Caribbean Sailfish and Bait balls!!!

Come to snorkel and swim with of the fastest fish in the Caribbean sea! During winter, the sailfish arrive near the coast of the Mexican Caribbean, in the surrounding waters of  Isla Contoy.   Sailfish are the fastest marine predators on earth and can reach a top speed of almost 70 miles per hour! Their long flexible, and powerful bodies helps them quickly circle and confuse schools of fish until some inevitably fall victim to the sailfish. Sailfish feed on fish, crustaceans, octopus, and squid; sardine and anchovies are also staples of a sailfish diet.  They come to the area of Isla Contoy, because they are attracted by the abundance of sardines in this area. Isla Contoy National park is located 30  km north of Isla Mujeres, where the Caribbean Sea meets the Gulf of Mexico. The  Isla has, because of its rich nutrients of the surrounding waters that support  abundant plankton, a large variety of more than 234 species of fish in the  area, including the sailfish, manta rays and  whale sharks.  Isla Contoy is well known for its beaches, they are often regarded as the most beautiful coasts of the Yucatan Peninsula! Go on this exciting adventure between December and March to get to see these amazing creatures!
