Overseas Diving Safaris and Liveaboard Boat Trips

The team at Fantsea Dive has been diving all over the world, and we want to share some of the amazing places that we have been with you, both near and far. There are three itineraries currently under consideration including Bali / Indonesa and the Red Sea out of Jordan & Egypt, but starting with a liveaboard boat trip out of Playa del Carmen to the remote atoll called "Chinchorro Banks" off the coast of Mexico near the border with Belize.

Chinchorro Banks

Though Chinchorro Banks was once referred to by Jacques Cousteau as "the best diving in the world" it is notoriously difficult to get to, which means few people ever actually get to visit it and the reefs and wrecks are in pristine condition. It usually requires a 4+ hour drive from Playa del Carmen to Mahaual, then patiently waiting for possibly many days before the ocean conditions are suitable for the 2.5 hour boat ride out to the atoll.  By taking a liveaboard boat however we avoid those complications, arriving at the atoll rested and relaxed after an overnight trip on a comfortable cruising yacht.  Once we arrive at Chinchorro Banks we will do 3-4 dives a day from the boat which has a large and comfortable interior for eating or relaxing, as well as an outdoor dining area and sundeck on the top of the boat.  We will dive for 3-5 days, stopping along the coast as we return to Playa for some great diving in Akumal and other locations.  We are considering both a 5 and 7 day itinerary, and anticipating this will cost between $1,600 - $2,200 per person for the trip including accommodation on the boat, food / drinks and diving.  Click here for more about Chinchorro Banks.

Bali / Indonesia

Many of you have been asking Jason about for years, a return to Bali & Indonesia where he spent 7 years living and diving.  Jason knows this part of the world very well, and would like to share his knowledge and experience with you and guide you on the trip of a lifetime, experiencing not only the spectacular diving there but also the beautiful scenery and culture of the area.  This would be a 10 - 12 Day trip with a couple of possibilities for how we would do it.  We could either hop between diving destinations on ferries and by driving through some remote destinations, giving you the opportunity to experience the culture and beauty of the country as well as the diving, or alternatively, we could dive from a liveaboard boat, which would be more expensive but mean a little more diving but not as much opportunity to enjoy much of the country itself.  We are still putting together costs on this trip but it could range from anywhere between $2,800 - $4,500 not including the flight to Bali.  Click here for more information about Bali and Indonesia.

Each of these trips will have a minimum number to run, but a very small, limited number of participants so that we can offer the same level of personal service to you while we are traveling as we do when we are diving in Playa.

Click below to express your interest in these trips and provide us with some feedback.  Your feedback will be considered and incorporated into our plans as they develop, and you be the first to receive notification of the final trip offer, giving you the opportunity to sign up for the trip before the information is released to anyone else.
